ELECTRICAL CHARGES
Opposite electrical charges always attract each other. So these particles with opposite charges will tend to move toward each other. Like electrical charges always repel. So particles with like charges will move away from each other.

Remember: Opposites charges attract, and like charges repel.

Atoms always try to remain electrically balanced.
